We were sad to learn that the M/S Scotia Prince was sold for scrap. It is the sad end to a great ship that created great memories for so many. We still invite all interested parties, tour operators, purveyors, service providers, and others interested in working with us to re-establish a cruise ferry link between Nova Scotia and New England to please contact us with a summary of your business and any proposals or expressions of interest. We continue to work behind the scenes to help bring back ferry service to Yarmouth and Portland. Scotia Cruises team of experts from around the world continue to work to re-establish a cruise ferry link between Nova Scotia and New England. Our team has in excess of 100 years experience with 50 of those years sailing between Nova Scotia and Maine.
As we repeatedly stressed to the local government, and various groups with 'authority' to decide who should operate a ferry, there is a minimum 12-18 month lead time to establish a service. It is irresponsible to state a service will begin in 9 months or less when no operator is approved, or the legal rights to lease the terminal are even finalized. Before anyone can establish a service, it is critical to know the parameters for leasing and using the Yarmouth terminal. Estimates without that critical knowledge are useless. We look forward to serving past passengers of the Scotia Prince and Cat, as well as new passengers that will sail our cruise ferry between Nova Scotia and New England with our first class customer service and amenities.
